Mortal Kombat Collectible Card Game Announced

BradyGAMES Explodes Onto Card Game Scene with Ultra-Hot Property

Indianapolis, Indiana (September 25, 1995) Put the powers of the Rayden and Shao Kahn in your own hands with the new Mortal Kombat Collectible Card Game, only from BradyGAMES.

BradyGAMES Publishing announced earlier today that their entry into the outrageously popular collectible card game market will release with the New Year--January 2, 1996. Licensed through WMS Industries and The Licensing Group, BradyGAMES will create and distribute this exclusive game, translated from the best-selling arcade/video fighting game in history, to the millions of Mortal Kombat and CCG fans around the world.

Combining dynamic, full-color designs with exciting fighting game action, the 300-card set allows an unlimited number of gamers to play as their favorite Mortal Kombat characters--depleting their opponents energy points with the different kinds of cards. The starter card pack includes 60 cards and comprehensive rules, and has a suggested retail price of $7.99.

Players and collectors can further enhance their sets with 15-card, foil-wrapped booster packs, with a suggested retail price of $2.50 each.

All cards will be marked in the corner to indicate their frequency: common, uncommon, or rare.

"Mortal Kombat will be the most thrilling game release this year. The challenging levels of strategic game play have been thoroughly tested. You'll find game matches cropping up everywhere. But I believe players will also recognize the value of the cards due to the brilliant artistic designs," Rick Ranucci, publisher of BradyGAMES stated.

The card designs are the creations of a team of comic artists, directed by the world-renowned comic book illustrator Neal Adams. Together they have brought the unforgettable cast of Mortal Kombat characters and creatures to a new plateau of realism.

The Mortal Kombat Collectible Card Game includes the following card subsets:

Characters
Basic Attacks
Special Attacks
Defense
Special Ability
Combo

"This card game is going to sweep the collectible card game industry like no other," notes Debra Kempker, Managing Editor.
